China – Third edition of the CT Rope Rescue Application Skills Exchange Conference
Great success for the third edition of the Chinese Exhibition of the CT Rope Rescue Application Skills Exchange Conference that ended on the 10th of November.
The event, with a large-scale media coverage, was held in Anlong, in the Chinese province of Guizhou, inside the Leye-Fengshan Geopark, an ideal environment to carry out rescue exercises on a rope thanks to the numerous natural caves and the hot and humid climate. The geopark covers a huge area of 930 Km, including two geological museums and eight areas with breath taking views (Huangjing tiankeng, Dashiwei tiankengs, Chuandong tiankeng, Luomeidong, Buliuhe River, Yuanyang Springs, Sanmenhai Karst Windows e Jiangzhou Cave).
We are happy to have also shared in China the enthusiasm of over 100 professionals who work within the field of rescue, the numerous spectators and enthusiasts came from Beijing, Henan, Hebei, Hubei, Sichuan, Guizhou, Chongqing, Guangxi, Shandong, Zhejiang e Taiwan.
The participants were challenged along a demanding and very engaging competition course, personally set up by the Frenchman Jean Bottazzi, international cave explorer, cave rescue instructor, with a great knowledge of the Chinese territory. The challenge raised the enthusiasm of the participants who repeatedly exchanged technical advice and they had the chance to test drive the CT products dedicated to rescue and to safety at work such as the left or right-handed ergonomic ascender Quick Up, The ascender for feet Quick Step A, the back pack Carrier, the adjustable harness Pyl Tec, the Chest Ascender Evo, the helmet Work Shell, and the pulleys and connectors.
Thanks to the Climbing Technology devices used, the difficult competition between the eight rescue teams in the final was less demanding. Designed for rescue, the CT devices made it possible to deal with complex missions in a safe and less exhausting way. Given the high level of difficulty, the competition was held for the whole day and saw the athletes busy from the morning until the evening when some great results were seen, greatly appreciated by the public and the jury.
We are very happy to have supported the intense activity of these highly trained professionals who were able to convey enthusiasm and generosity, especially in the exchange of ideas and advice. Each day, after competing, the athletes had the opportunity to get together to share their experiences while the speleologist Jean Bottazzi presented his technical reports.
The third edition of the CT Rope Rescue Application Skills Exchange Conference for all participants was not only an occasion to make known the best Chinese rescuers but above all an opportunity to share and to learn the most innovative and effective rescue techniques.
Here are the winners!
We are already looking forward to the fourth edition of the CT Rope Rescue Application Skills Exchange Conference in 2015.
